are used to assess near vision. The child sorts smaller and smaller Symbols on the the cards until they cannot be recognized. Some children find it easier to place a 3-D PUZZLE piece on the matching LEA PLAYING CARD. They can also be used to stimulate amblyopic eyes. There are 64 cards with 8 cards in each of the following Symbol sizes: 16M (20/800), 10M (20/500), 6.3M (20/320), 4M (20/200), 2.5M (20/125), 1.6M (20/80), 1.0M (20/50), and .63M (20/32), at 16". #A252700 LEA Symbols Flash Cards

were designed to meet the needs of people and children with multi handicaps. Hold up 2 cards with different Symbols of the same size so the child can "eye gaze" or point to the requested Symbol in a "2 alternative forced choice" presentation. If the child only has a "yes" response hold up one card and ask if the Symbol is an "apple", etc. Young children can name the Symbol or point to the matching Symbol. The Symbols are presented individually on cards that vary in size depending on Symbol size. This allows for easy sorting and identification of the different Symbol sizes. At 10 feet optotype sizes range from 20/200 to 20/8.

#A253300 LEA Gratings

(paddles) developed by Dr Hyvärinen. An easy to use tool for measuring grating acuities of infants, pre-verbal children and people with multi handicaps. An infant detects the presence of parallel lines of decreasing widths. The infant is likely to look at the striped paddle rather than the gray paddle. Three plastic paddles have gratings printed on both sides, which decrease in size: 0.25, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 4.0 and 8.0 cycles per centimeter (cpcm). A 4th paddle has a gray side used as an "alternative choice". Plot your findings on the graph to compare with "normal" visual development. #1010 COBBLER APRONS The gray apron is recommended when using the LEA GRATINGS to offer a plain background. The big pockets are great for holding all the little test toys. One size fits all.

Various sizes of LEA Symbols, used in acuity tests, are scattered under the "apple" tree and on the path to the "house". Visual discrimination & scanning skills are used to find the symbols. Parents can share their child's responses with the doctor if there are concerns. Prepares children to have their acuity measured with LEA Symbol tests.
